The Center for Chinese Legal Studies is pleased to present, "Weiquan (Rights Protection) Lawyering in an Authoritarian State: The China Case," a lecture by Fu Hualing. Prof. Fu is Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Hong Kong. Prof. Fu's interests include criminal justice and law and administration. His recent publications include "Media Law in the PRC;" "A Bird in the Cage: Police and Political Leadership in Post-Mao China;" and "Understanding People's Mediation in Post-Mao China." He teaches Criminology and Criminal Law.

Presiding judges will be The Right Honorable Samuel Alito of the United States Supreme Court, The Honorable Sonia Sotomayor of the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, The Honorable Susan Graber of the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and The Honorable Brett Kavanaugh, United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
