Join CCE on an exciting visit to Ruder Finn, Inc., one of the largest independent integrated communication and public relations firms in the world. During this visit, we will learn about the industry and what it takes to succeed. If you are interested in full-time job opportunities with Ruder Finn, we will learn about their highly respected 30-year-old paid Executive Training Program (more information copied below) and how to best market yourself for this competitive program. We will also hear from former Executive Trainees within the following areas: Healthcare, Corporate Communications, Ethics, and Interactive. Come along armed with your PR-related questions and learn about one of the best firms in the world.

Ruder Finn's paid Executive Training Program is well known throughout the public relations industry. This 30-year-old paid program is offered three times a year in our New York City headquarters.
The Executive Training Program is for recent college graduates who are interested in exploring a career in public relations. Also open to graduate students!
* Many of our new trainees have little to no prior experience in the field.
* Executive Trainees work full time, 35 hours per week, and attend weekly classes.
There is no set number of Executive Trainees per session. The class size varies widely from session to session. We receive the largest number of ETs participating in the summer program.
Executive Trainee applicants must have graduated from college before the session they apply for begins. Candidates with graduate degrees are also eligible to apply, but a graduate degree is not a requirement.
All applicants must have a social security number and be authorized to work in the U.S. permanently - no exceptions.
Executive Trainees gain exposure to every facet of the public relations business. Ruder Finn educates Trainees on the fundamental skills of public relations, including:
* media monitoring,
* media relations,
* electronic media,
* special event planning,
* new business presentation, and more.
Executive Trainees complete a 16-week curriculum on PR basics and become integral members of their account teams. They are typically assigned to a specific practice area of the Agency including Corporate Communications which encompasses Corporate Technology, Corporate Reputation, Branding, Consumer Products and CSR; Healthcare; and RF Innovation Studios which engages in social media strategies, digital and video design, and website development and more.

This event is open to all undergraduate and graduate students from Columbia College, The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of General Studies, School of Continuing Education, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, School of the Arts, and Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
