The Ministry of Public Health and Population in Haiti has undertaken ambitious programs to address the public health challenges facing Haiti's estimated 10 million people. With the ongoing pressures of cholera, high maternal and infant mortality rates, environmental health challenges and high population growth rates, the Ministry of Health serves as a critical provider of basic health care to rural and urban populations. This Haiti Research and Policy Program Dialogue Series will cover topics such as the current health monitoring platforms, government allocation of limited financial resources, and the potential of trained community health workers in addressing the rural health challenges.
