Please join us for this special International Student Career Workshop offered jointly by the Center for Career education and the International Student and Scholar's Office (ISSO).
(This workshop will be repeated on April 2 from 10am-12 noon)
The first hour of the workshop will be presented by CCE and will focus in the special cultural and language issues and challenges that International Students face in the job search process. We will discuss the cultural norms of getting jobs in the U.S. in areas like networking, body language and business etiquette. We will also go over the importance of improving your English language abilities to be more effective in elevator pitches, interviews and written communications. We will delve into suggested methods of language improvement including existing resources.
During the second half of the workshop, a staff member of the ISSO will provide information for International Students who are interested in staying in the U.S. to work after completion of their programs. You will receive valuable information and have the chance to answer any questions concerning F-1 visa Optional Practical Training and sponsorship issues including time lines and application procedures.
Eligibility: This workshop is open to all Undergraduate and Graduate students of CC, GS, GSAS, SOA, GSAAP, SCE and SEAS
