Search Strategies for Alumni: Finding Employment in a Slightly Improved Market
Are you getting ready to launch your job search? Have you been looking for a while but are getting
discouraged about not finding a job? In
better times, it might have been possible to use only one or two job search
methods to land a position, but today, even with the employment forecast
brightening, it is still necessary to employ every job search strategy at your
disposal. This session is the third in a three part series. Career professionals from the Center for Career Education will help you to
launch or jump start your job search. You will also have the opportunity to
share tips and insights about the job search process with other Columbia
alumni. While it is recommended that you attend all three workshops, it is not a requirement.

the Interview and Landing the Job:
how to interview with confidence by discerning what employers are looking
for. Reduce the stress and increase your
chances for success by anticipating the questions and learning how to answer
them. The workshop will also cover ways of following up after the interview and
how to prepare your references. Finally,
we will discuss how to handle salary negotiations once the offer is made.
