Job Search Strategies for Alumni: Finding Employment in a Difficult Market

Are you getting ready to launch your job search?  Have you been looking for a while but are getting discouraged about not finding a job?  In better times, it might have been possible to use only one or two job search methods to land a position, but today it is necessary to employ every job search strategy at your disposal.  In this two part series (November 30 and December 7), career professionals from the Center for Career Education will help you to launch or jump start your job search. You will also have the opportunity to share tips and insights about the job search process with other Columbia alumni. While it is recommended that you attend both workshops, it is not a requirement.

Session One: Wednesday, November 30 - 6:30-8:00pm
The Center for Career Education, Columbia University

Getting Ready: Learn how to create your own job search plan which starts with an evaluation of your own skills and strengths and how they relate to the fields that you're targeting.  In addition, we will work on "Elevator Pitches" and learn how to create the best possible resumes, CV's, cover letters and job applications.
