This day long conference will not only review the current state of energy production and its prospects, but will look at the role of electrical energy systems as well.

The Caspian region over the past decade has swung from being perceived as a basin with reserves sufficient to challenge the Gulf to one whose reserves are equivalent to the North Sea.  Neither is true.  Still, the importance of an energy region that is not a “swing state” in its capacity needs to be understood in terms of its broader impact on the world.
