Calling all future musicians, entertainment moguls, and music mavens! For the first time ever at Columbia, Visionaire Mgmt brings you the Music Industry Fireside Chat series.

   Ever wonder how Lady Gaga got her start? Talk to her producer.

   Wonder the story behind Jay-Z/Alicia Keyssmash hit “Empire State of Mind”? Hear directly from the songwriter who penned it.

Kick off the 2012 school year with some face-to-face time with the music veterans who have lived through the industry’s many iterations and are sitting down to share inside information you can’t get anywhere else! Hear personal accounts from our guests about breaking a new artist, music production, the role of journalism, and other hot topics. This event is designed to open up dialogue between our panel of professionals and students interested in entertainment careers, so come ready to network and absorb it all!

Jane’t Sewell

Jane’t Sewell is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer known for penning the smash hit “Empire State of Mind”. She has accumulated 15+ years of experience in the industry and is also an ambassador for Grammy U, an arm of the Recording Academy that supports college-aged students interested in careers in entertainment.

Rob Fusari

One of the industry's most talented and versatile record producers/song writers, Rob Fusari has 7 #1 hit singles to his credit and was also executive and co-producer on Grammy-winning, “The Fame”, Lady Gaga's hit debut album (Interscope Records) which has sold over 10 million copies. Fusari also co-wrote six tracks on the project, along with the #1 single, "Paparazzi."

Rob Fusari has worked with Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears, BackStreet Boys, Estelle - and that’s just the tip of his client list.

Fusari has been honored with ASCAP’s Pop Award and was recently featured in Billboard’s Top 10 Songwriters list.

Christopher Robbins

Christopher Robbins is an entertainment professional with a focus in relationship management and is currently heading up Business Development at Billboard Magazine. He is an experienced and results-oriented marketing professional that boasts an extensive background in strategy, partnership marketing, promotions and events to contribute to an organization’s brand development and overall positioning.
